The Boat and The Pontoon

The Boat and The Pontoon

In the last blog I talked about some of the symptoms that show up in our lives when our unconscious mind is trying to get us to correct our course, or to get us on the right track for us to be in equilibrium, for us to be on our purpose. And I spoke about a sense of what the space of moving from a state of Belief to a state of Knowing is like, that we’re being drawn to something new, to something new in our life, to a new way or new direction for our business, our life or our career.

It’s this sense that as we move from the state of Belief to a state of Knowing, that a lot of different symptoms start to show up in our lives. I discussed this in the previous blog.

But I want to drill down a little more again further between these two states – the state of Belief and the state of Knowing. Now, what shows up in people’s lives as we’re moving between these two states is what I refer to as Choice Points. It’s these choice points that the feathers, the bricks, and the trucks show up in our life. And as I said on the previous blog, if we listen to the feathers, well, then life becomes a lot easier. However, if we don’t listen to the feathers, the bricks come along, and the bricks are a little bit more subtle than the feathers. We would prefer if the bricks didn’t show up. And again, if we don’t listen to the bricks, well then unfortunately the truck does come along the way and believe me, we don’t want the truck along our way.
I use that as an analogy to explain the different nudges or the different ways of how our unconscious mind is trying to show up in our life for us to make a decision. And ultimately it’s a Choice Point. The terminology that I use is it’s a choice point in our life. Now, we can have many choice points throughout our whole life, but some choices are an lot easier to make versus others.

And in the last blog I also spoke about the sense and feelings when you’re moving from a state of Belief to a state of Knowing, is this sense that you’re at a crossroads. That could be a four-way route or it could be a two-way route or a three-way route. It’s literally those crossroads that show up in people’s lives. So it can be quite confusing for a lot of people. Now, you would have gone through a multitude of choice points throughout your life right up to this point, but they may have been easy choice points to make. You just saw it at that time as being just a choice. You got to make it, and you just take the choice and you move forward.

However, for a lot of people, what happens in a particular time as we move throughout our life and the challenges become a lot more difficult, on top of that the choices become harder to make. That’s when it becomes, “How do we actually make this choice? Am I going in the right direction? And if I make this decision, is it the right decision to make?” So let me explain some of the elements that show up in people’s lives and for you to consider, if you are at a particular choice point or you may be able to recognize previous choice points.

What happens is, as I said, that the feathers, the bricks and the trucks show up in our life. If we still don’t listen to the feathers, the bricks and the trucks show up, and if we still don’t listen to the trucks, then everything is stripped away. Now, what I mean by everything, it means that anything that is most important to us and most important in particular to our ego, because our ego is at its maximum or at its highest, when we’re in a state of Belief. Whatever has the biggest impact on our ego will be stripped away. How that shows up is meaning that relationships will literally fall apart, our business will completely decimate. Not just have a major impact, it will be completely decimated. Our health will have a significant impact that we may not even overcome, that we will have to live with that health issue for the rest of our life. Our major finances will be completely stripped away.

These are…a higher level of truck, if you want to call it from that perspective, if we’re still not listening to what we’re being guided to. Now, all of these, whatever the trigger is the most that’s impacting on the ego, is the one that will be stripped away. If that’s not listened to, it will continue to ripple out to the rest of the elements, and if you can imagine multiple triggers happening. So ultimately what’s actually happening is the unconscious mind is trying to strip away or to move you away from your conscious thinking. To move you away from your ego and for you to trust and to believe and have faith in your unconscious and what your unconscious mind is trying to guide you towards. It’s this inner knowing or this inner desire for you to move towards a much, much altered or different direction.

And the only way the unconscious mind can do that, if we haven’t listened to the feathers, the bricks and the trucks, the only way it can do that is make life so difficult that you have to make a choice. That you now have to make a decision. Because ultimately we can go through our life and we can have the sense that we’ve got to be doing something different. We’ve got to be doing something different, we’ve got to change our business and go in a different direction, or you’ve got to change your career or go in a different direction. But we just don’t make the decision, we don’t change anything. We have this inner sense that we should do, and we want to, and we have desire to, but we don’t change anything. And we again, we just continue going from year to year to year on that treadmill, on that hamster wheel, continuing doing exactly the same thing as what we’ve always done.

So the only way if the unconscious mind is not getting your attention to make a decision, literally is to strip every single thing away from your life. But what it does is it starts at the highest trigger of what that is for you. For example, if finances are the highest trigger for you, meaning that as soon as your finances start to deplete in your business or your bank account, and you start to worry and have fear and anxiety around your finances depleting, ultimately what’s happening is that your unconscious mind is trying to get you to make a decision or to make a choice of what it is that it’s getting to.

Now, how you’ll identify this even further, because I see this happening in businesses more particularly because obviously I work with a lot of business owners, but I see it happening in business. But what happens is they continue doing exactly the same activities, but still the financial health of their business does not improve, because they’re still doing what they’ve always done.

Now, if that happens and you’re doing all the different things that you’ve done in the past by way of all the things that worked, whereby what you’ve done in terms of marketing or advertising, or gotten out there to try and bring in more business into your business to increase your turnover, and it’s still not having an impact on your finances because whatever shows up, unusual expenditure starts to happen, or other costs start to come into the business by way of the business being sued or other clients disappearing or other customers or things happening within the business in order to suck those finances out of the business. Even though you’re doing a huge amount of activity by way sales and marketing in order to actually bring that business back in, if that’s the case, ultimately, it’s your identification to say, “I need to do something completely different.”

And the thing that you need to do differently is to listen to what it is that you’re being guided towards. Because I see this so many different times whereby they still continue doing exactly what they’ve always done, even though I’ve told them many, many times this is the path you need to go on and there’s a track you should be heading towards in order for you to reach your purpose. When they don’t do it or they take a long period of time in order to do it, literally their business will start to dismantle. They lose staff, they lose their turnover, they lose customers. You name it, all of that shows up because one of their highest triggers is finances. It’s only then when it’s all been stripped away or very nearly all been stripped away, that they then make the decision, “I need to do something different.”

And therefore they start to do things differently, of being on the right track, being on the right purpose and then lo and behold, the money starts to come into the business. Things have started to change because literally they’ve altered their course.

So, when that happens or how you recognize it, is those elements showing up in your life of what it’s impacting on your highest levels or what is the highest triggers that’s impacting on your ego side of things, because ultimately your unconscious mind is trying to get you to move from a state of Belief, into a state of Knowing. In a state of Knowing it’s moving more closer to a state whereby you’re allowing your unconscious mind to direct you more in your life. Ultimately in that shift, it’s your unconscious mind wanting to be expressed. It wants full expression in a shift between those two states.

So ultimately it’s going to get rid of everything that it needs to do in order for you to make that shift into operating more so from your unconscious mind, than your conscious mind. Now, ultimately what happens is, as I said at the very beginning, is a choice point. We’ve got a choice as regards, whether we go one way, or we go another way. We can continue doing whatever we’ve always done. And you know, the definition of madness, you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’re always going to get the exact same results. But in this case, unfortunately, you’re not going to get the exact same results, you’re actually going to get worse results if you keep doing what you’ve always done. The whole point is that you have to do something slightly different. And it ultimately is what your unconscious mind is trying to guide you towards. What is that slightly different that you should be doing?

Well I use the analogy of when you’re at this choice point of the boat and the pontoon. So if you can imagine a rowing boat and it’s moored up against the pontoon. So it’s this analogy that I get people to understand what’s actually happening in their life. So if you can picture in your mind’s eye, you got one foot in the boat and one foot on the pontoon. The pontoon represents safe ground, the pontoon represents your comfort zone. It represents what you’ve always been doing. It represents your career, your business, your life, how you’ve lived your life up until now. That’s what you know, you know it inside out. You’re absolutely safe on the pontoon. Whereas the boat, it’s a little bit unsteady. You have a sense perhaps of where the boat wants to bring you towards, but you don’t have an image or a direction or a satnav GPS of where that’s actually going to go. But you have a sense that it really does want you to step into the boat and guide you towards moving towards that new direction.

What is the Meaning of Life and How To Find Your Passion & Purpose

This Free eBook will tell you the meaning of life, understanding your passion, and how to find your Life Purpose.

You Will Learn:

What happens while you’re at a choice point, for many, many people, is they have that one foot in the boat and one foot on the pontoon. And if you can imagine for yourself in the physical world, if you had one foot in the boat and one foot on the pontoon and the boat starts to move away, it would get very unsettling. So all the symptoms that I explained in the previous blog will start to show up in that unnerving-ness or that unsettling in your life of where should I be going? What should I be doing? Then all of a sudden, the pontoon’s not as safe as what it used to be versus I need to step into the boat. But for a lot of people it’s very difficult to step into the boat.

And how do I make that choice? How do I literally put my both feet into the boat and go in this new direction? So understand that that’s what it feels like. That’s what it looks like. That’s what a choice point is in trying to move from the pontoon into the boat. Now ultimately, what it’s trying to get you to do is to make a decision. It’s asking you, your unconscious mind is trying to ask you to trust it and to put both feet in the boat. Once you get in that boat and you now move towards your new direction of what it is been guiding you all along to do, of what you absolutely totally and utterly enjoy doing, have the biggest impact in doing, reach your fullest potential in doing, be living on your purpose and get the maximum fulfillment from, it knows all of this. It’s just asking you to trust it and get in the boat and head towards that new direction.

And it only happens when you make a decision. Now, by making a decision, it’s you literally, as if you were physically moving from the pontoon into the boat. A decision looks like you’re making a firm resolve to yourself as, “Yes, this is what I’m going after. This is what I’m going to do. I’m going to get in the boat. And that’s exactly the direction that I’m going to go.” Now, what happens as soon as you make that decision in your own mind, other things start to show up to check have you made that decision? Have you made that firm resolve because it wants to try and tempt you back onto the pontoon because that’s the conscious part, it’s trying to get you back to the comfort zone. That’s your ego wanting to play with you to get you back to what you’ve always known.

So other things start to show up in order to tempt you back out of the boat onto the pontoon. So the question for yourself is a firm resolve is actually no, stepping in the boat and heading in your direction and saying, “Oh shoot, do you know what, he world that you knew before is now left on the pontoon”. Other ways of looking at this, do you really want to… for you to make a really firm resolve for yourself is to burn the pontoon, like in your mind’s eye is literally burning that pontoon so therefore you’ve set it alight and therefore now the pontoon no longer exists. It’s gone.

Now, you’re now firmly in the boat itself. How you communicate that to the unconscious that you’ve actually made that decision is a firm resolve that says, yes, you’re committing to staying in the boat and going in the direction of where you’re being guided to. How you continue to communicate that message is you start to take action towards where you’re being guided towards. For many people, it is a leap of faith because that choice point can be such a choice point for them that it demands a leap of faith. Now I’ve heard this analogy before from a very successful business person, and what he said was, “As soon as you take the leap of faith, the parachute shows up” because you’ve always had the parachute, it’s been always there, you just don’t realize that the parachute is there. And once you take the leap of faith, that’s when the parachute starts to show up.

So when you step into the boat, you’re taking action and you’re moving towards that new direction for yourself. That’s making a firm decision. That’s making a decision at that particular choice point. How it’s a leap of faith is because fear starts to show up. Fear and anxiety because it can be around well, what about financial? Where am I going to get the money from? Or is this new direction going to give me the income that I need that I’ve always been used to? Or it could be an impact from a reputational perspective. Am I going to lose part of my reputation, what I’ve been known for? This is, up until now, this is what I’ve been known for. This is how I identify myself in the world. And therefore, am I going to impact the reputation that I have in the world? Or it’s a fear that we’re going to lose something, whether it be losing more finances or losing our business or losing our career or losing something in our life.

It’s that fear that actually shows up. But if you really think about it, each one of those fears is tapped into our ego. As I said earlier on, ultimately, what it’s trying to do is try to trigger your ego and your ego is trying to hold you back in that state of Belief and not wanting you to move into a state of Knowing. So that’s where that fear will actually start to show up. Now, on one of these blogs I’ll go through about dissolving fear, but I just want you to understand, first of all, this is what happens when we’re at a choice point and when we’re being asked to take that leap of faith and get into the boat and move towards where we’re meant to be, where we’re supposed to be.

What actually shows up then as well for other people is a question or a statement that comes open up when I have these conversations with my clients is, I don’t have the courage. I don’t have the strength or I don’t have… How am I ever going to achieve that? Or how am I ever going to go there? But ultimately what inwardly you’re saying is that you’re not good enough. You’re not intelligent enough, which again is another fear. So when you realize actually, do you know what, all you need to do is be more competent in what it is that you need to do in order to actually take the action, what it is that you need to do or the direction you need to go on, then that can be overcome. So courage can be built once we understand the underlying essence of where the question is coming from or where that fear is coming from.

If we still don’t take that leap that we’re being guided towards, and we’re still kind of between one foot in the boat and one foot on the pontoon, those symptoms will still continue to show up until such times as we’ve made a decision. So those symptoms by way of, as I spoke about in the previous blog, those symptoms of the restlessness, being defeating, being unfulfilled, the lack of meaning in our lives, the lack of motivation, lack of drive of where it is that we want to go, or that feeling of we’re just not reaching my full potential, those symptoms will continue to show up until such time as you make a decision.

Now, the question then I tend to get from clients is yeah, but I don’t know where I’m supposed to be going? I don’t know what direction I’m supposed to be going? Now I give them part of the elements of the image that I have for them by way of where their purposes is, where they’re supposed to be going in order to actually get them to take the steps or to guide them towards that path that they’re supposed to be taking.

For you, what I’m going to say is that the action that you’re supposed to take is the action that comes up. The more you listen, and the more you communicate with your unconscious mind, the more those actions, those inspired thoughts are going to come up. And those inspired thoughts create actions to be taken.

Now I use the analogy of, if you can imagine in your mind’s eye, whereby you’re driving down a country road, but it’s at nighttime. So if you can imagine that there’s no lights around whatsoever on this country road, and you have your headlights on, on the car, but there’s no road lights. There’s no streetlights because it’s completely pitch black outside, but you just have your headlights on the front of your car. All you can see when you’re driving that car down the country road is just a short distance ahead. You can only see a few meters ahead of you. That’s all you can see. So as you’re driving down, as you drive further and further down the road, all you can see is those few metres ahead of you as you move along the road, but you have a sense of where you’re heading. You have a sense of the direction that you’re supposed to be going. You have a sense of where you want to get to, but you just see a few meters down the road, because all you see is what the headlights show up for you.

When we’re at choice points and we need to take action of what it is that we’re meant to be doing, well then all we see is those few meters ahead. And what I mean by that is those actions, the first step that you need to take, that’s the step that appears. That next action that you’re supposed to take, that’s the next action that shows up. That’s the next action that you’re supposed to take. And even if there’s an element of fear, you take the action anyway, because you’ll always know the difference between a conscious thought and an inspired thought.

And perhaps I’ll explain that in one of the future blogs, but you’ll know the difference between a conscious thought and an inspired thought. An inspired thought, I gave you a few different examples before in previous blogs whereby you could be woken up in the morning or it literally pops into your mind while you’re doing something else, you haven’t been consciously thinking about it. But when an inspired thought comes up, the energy is very, very different. It’s a much more fun, lighter, happier energy. And even though there may be a fear attaching to that inspired thought because, Oh my God, I’ve never done that before. Or what am I supposed to do? Or how am I supposed to do it? That’s the conscious mind rushing in to try and work out how it’s going to do it, but the inspired thought at the very beginning was the piece of, Oh my God, this is what you’re supposed to be doing. That’s the next action that you’re supposed to take.

So even if there’s a fear attaching to the next step or the next action that you’re being encouraged to take from an unconscious perspective, know that it’s still an inspired thought or notice the difference anyway. In particular that it is an inspired thought. And once you know that it’s an inspired thought, understand that it’s the conscious mind kicking in for you to understand and to rationalize and how to make it happen that inspired thought or what action you need to take the planning or to work it out of what an inspired thought is.

So understand, yes, with inspired thoughts a fear can show up, but you’ll always only be given and encouraged to take the action of what you’re capable of taking at this moment in time. So when you’re at a choice point, whatever action that you’re absolutely capable of doing, even though the unconscious mind knows that you can achieve so much more, you can do so much more, it knows that it has a battle with your conscious thinking that it can only give you what the conscious mind thinks it’s capable of doing. So therefore, that small action that starts to happen or that small action that shows up, as soon as you take the action, those actions become bigger and bigger and bigger because really what’s actually happening is you’re getting to know and the courage and the competence in doing those particular actions that show up. So you’ll only be asked to do something that you know, or that the unconscious knows from your conscious perspective, it can take, and it can actually do.

It’s never going to ask you to do something completely wild that’s totally, utterly outside your competence level. So when it comes from that perspective, understand that it’s for you to take a firm decision, what’s followed is by taking action. Now some clients ask me when they’re in a business or if they’re in a job or a career, and they say, I can’t take that leap of faith because then I would have to give up my business, or I’d have to give up my job. I’d have to give up my career that they’ve built, they’ve spent so many years building and to be asked to either do something slightly different or something significantly different to what they’ve always been doing. But they know in their heart that that’s exactly what they want to be doing because the energy inside of them starts to light up from the perspective, “that’s really what I want to be doing. That’s my dream. That’s absolutely what I want to be doing.”

But the fear, holds them back. So the clients typically ask me, do I need to give up my business or do we need to give up my career in order to actually do what my inner desire of what I’ve been drawn towards? And I never ever, ever ask my clients to take that leap of faith, because they’ve got to present for themselves of when they’re ready to take that leap of faith. What I’ll do is I’ll bring about as much as I possibly can by way of dissolving their fears and ask them to take the smaller steps towards that bigger picture. So therefore their courage, or their confidence starts to build in relation to they’re going in the right direction. So I’ll never ask them to literally dismantle their existing business. I’ll never ask them to dismantle their existing career. What I ask them to do is work it in parallel.

So while you’re trying to pivot or while you’re trying to change that pattern, that course of direction that you’re trying to do, do it from a parallel perspective. So as you start to develop what it is that you want to do, as you start to bring about and make manifest what it is that you’re being drawn towards or what you’re being guided towards, that’s the conscious thinking that’s literally working out from that perspective is how do I literally plan out how do I work this from a parallel perspective? But when it comes from that piece, meaning the conscious thinking piece and you’re trying to work out well, how do we even do this from a parallel perspective, let alone taking a leap of faith and completely change overnight of what it is that you’re doing. Don’t go from a conscious thinking perspective, go from an unconscious thinking, because conscious thinking only knows black and white. It only knows based on past experiences, past knowledge, past learning from other people or other things or other moments or other events that it’s already gone through. That’s conscious thinking. So therefore the information that it has is only the information that it’s got knowledge of. It’s black and white, it’s finite.

So hand it over to the unconscious part of you and the unconscious part is infinite possibilities. And the more you align your Executive Center, with your Unconscious and to the SuperConscious, the more infinite possibilities start to show up. So what you do is you seek out those possibilities from your Unconscious. You draw them out, you draw them out towards you, of what it is that you should be doing by way of what are those next steps?

What are the actions that you need to be doing that’s in-line with your unconscious and in-line with the SuperConscious and therefore also in-line with your Executive Center? What are the actions you’re being drawn to? They’re the inspired thoughts. So draw that information out from your unconscious, not from a conscious thinking perspective, it’s two very, very different ways of thinking. But ultimately, as I said in the previous blog, what’s happening is, it’s trying to shift you from a state of Belief to a state of Knowing. And what I said in the last blog was that state of Knowing is absolutely surrendering and giving over to your unconscious to be guided by your unconscious to where you’re supposed to go. So the more you communicate with your unconscious and develop that relationship with your unconscious, the more you’re actually going to draw out in order to be given the actions that you’re supposed to take.

That’s how it works. It seems so simple. It is simple when you know how, but it’s so, so complicated for people to get around because they’re moving from a way that they’ve always worked to an absolute new way of being, a new way of working. So, that’s choice points. So understanding when you’re at a choice point, you’ve got to make a decision, and until such time as you put your both feet in the boat, that you firmly resolve in making that decision. And you’re taking action towards where that boat wants to go, where your unconscious mind wants to bring you to, it’s only good things that are going to happen, but for some people it’s about taking that leap of faith.

Now, all that shows up as I said was, all you’re going to see is a few metres ahead of you. That’s the car headlights when you’re driving down a country road. So whatever the actions that you are being asked to take right now at the moment, that’s what’s going to show up. The more actions you take, the more closer you’re getting to your purpose, the more closer you’re getting to your end goal of where you’re supposed to be. And therefore bigger actions will start to show up. And bigger and bigger ways of how it becomes about make manifest. Bigger ways of how you’re going to get the recognition, the reward, the impact. How you are going to make that difference in people’s lives. That’s what’s going to show up as you take the action towards where you’re being guided towards.

So the question I have for you now is, what are you being drawn towards to do differently? What is it inwardly that you’ve been drawn towards to do? So whether it be in your business, whether it be in your career, what’s that inner-feeling that you know you should be doing something different. And if you’re having those questions inside, that, you know what, I need to be doing something different, or what in your business, in your life, in your career, by way of making that difference or being guided on a much, much bigger purpose, but you don’t know what that purpose is, go back to previous blogs because I outlined how you find your purpose. But the next case is making a decision. Making the decision on the choice point and take an action on those choice points.

So what are you being asked towards to do? What are the next steps that are showing up for you? What is your unconscious mind trying to guide you towards, in order to take those next steps? And then you got to take action and take those next steps.

The Purpose Call

The Purpose Call

In the last blog, I talked about finding your purpose. Now, for some people, they feel that there is no purpose for them, that you just go through life, you do your job, your business, your career, whatever it might be, and that’s your life.

Whereas other people are drawn to a state of feeling that “No, actually there has to be something more to life. There has to be something more that I’m here to do. That there’s a reason or a purpose or a meaning for my life, to be here.”

And in the last blog I spoke about, well how can you find your purpose, and the techniques or the methodology that I gave are some of the elements of what I work through with clients. And it’s this methodology that helps people to find what it is that their true purpose is. What is it that best suits them? What it is that they’re here for? And what is their business or their career to be wrapped around what their purpose is?

And I also spoke about in an earlier blog, by way of the different States of Being that we actually go through, but there were two particular states that I want to focus on here. These are the state of Belief and the state of Knowing. And in between these two states, there’s a critical line that shows up or a critical threshold as what sometimes I refer to it as. And it’s when people are moving from the state of Belief into a state of Knowing that this critical line shows up, but it causes an inner anxiousness or an unease or a nervousness within the individual.

So what I want to go through in this blog are some of the elements that come up as a person is transitioning or trying to make sense of this transition from going from a state of Belief, to a state of Knowing, and then moving on to higher states.

And it’s this inner fight that goes on between wanting to hang onto the older state, which is the state of Belief, however wanting to move into the much higher state, which is the state of Knowing.

And I discussed some of the elements in previous blogs that show up in people’s lives as they’re making this transition, but I want to drill down a little bit deeper than that. What I explained was that it’s a bit like you’ve got one individual but the person is split in two. And one half of that person wants to stay in the old world of the state of Belief, whereas the other half of the person wants to move into the much higher world, which is the state of Knowing.

And it’s these two worlds that create this split individual within the one person. And what’s actually happening inside is that the state of consciousness or how the person has been operating for many, many years is fighting to hang on to the old world of how it worked and how it went around, how it did business, or how it did their career, or developed different things and brought about different things into their life. Whereas the other part of themselves is fighting and wanting to move towards a much easier way of doing things. So these two worlds are created by the sense of on one side, you’ve got conscious thinking. And then on the other side, you’ve got unconscious thinking.

Now, as I explained again, in previous blogs, ultimately what The Executive Code does is working from the Executive Center in the brain to connect with the Unconscious mind and therefore also then to connect with the SuperConscious. It’s this unconscious part of us that’s taking in a huge amount of information and it’s helping to guide us throughout our daily lives.

However, the conscious thinking part of ourselves is trying to control everything by way of planning, by way of trying to figure out and work out a way of how it’s going to achieve going from A to Z or its goals or objectives or what it is that it’s setting its mind on. Now, this inner fight that goes on is literally trying to teach us and trying to guide us towards a much easier way of living, which is working from the unconscious mind.

So the more we try and control, and the more we try and plan and try and think about how things should take place is going to cause more angst within ourselves. And the more we surrender and pass over to being led by the unconscious part of ourselves, which is connected to the SuperConscious, the more we allow ourselves to be led by that part of ourselves, the easier life becomes.

Now, it’s a very, very difficult thing for people to get their heads around, but equally, it’s extremely difficult to operate from, because let me put it this way; you’ve been living a particular way for so many years and now you’re being presented with a way, “Well, how do I live in this completely different way going forward?” And ultimately it’s about changing our habits or changing our routines of how we’ve done things in the past.

So like with anything new, it’s unnerving, it’s unsettling. And there may have been things that you’ve tried to do in the past by way of trying to do something new, which has been unnerving and has been unsettling. And until such time it becomes a routine, it takes a bit of time and it takes a bit of practice. So what I want to help you with is to understand what’s going on inside yourself when you’re transitioning between these two states and ultimately understanding and recognizing the symptoms about where you need to be moving to or where you’re being inwardly guided towards.

So ultimately, it’s about forming new habits and a new way of doing things. You’ve been doing the way you’ve worked for such a long time, that it’s a case of, “Now, how do you create those new habits?” Or, “How do you create those new routines in your life?”

But let me put it this way. Let me give you an example. When in the past, you’ve been working on a problem and you’re consciously thinking a way of figuring out that particular problem, to find an answer, to find a solution. And for whatever reason, you just can’t work out what the solution is to that particular problem and you’ve been working on it for days, if not weeks, if not longer than that. And you still can’t come up with the solution to your problem, because you’re again, consciously thinking about it. But then lo and behold, you wake up one morning and as you’re brushing your teeth or as you’re having your shower or whatever it might be, you’re going through your daily routine, what actually happens is that you get an inspired thought into your mind.

And for other people, sometimes it can happen from the perspective when you get woken up during the night. Sometimes, typically between three o’clock in the morning and four o’clock in the morning. All of a sudden you’re fast asleep, but then you get awakened by this inspired thought. Ultimately, what’s happening is that the unconscious mind has been working on that problem and trying to give you the solution to that problem. Hence, the reason why it’s giving you that inspired thought as you’re going about doing something else that’s completely routine.

What is the Meaning of Life and How To Find Your Passion & Purpose

This Free eBook will tell you the meaning of life, understanding your passion, and how to find your Life Purpose.

You Will Learn:

So this is just an example for you to get your mind around what it is that the unconscious mind does and how it works and how it communicates those inspired thoughts to yourself. So when you understand it from that perspective, then you realize actually, “Okay, so if you hand it over to the unconscious mind, well then we’re tapping into that amazing power of infinite possibilities in order to solve whatever problems that we’re actually trying to solve. But equally in order to actually bring about whatever our goals, our objectives are that we’re actually trying to make manifest.”

So if we were to stop consciously thinking and be led more by our unconscious, well then life becomes an awful lot easier. Now, most people will refer to this as being your gut feeling or your intuition. And there will have been times that you will have had that gut feeling or that intuition piece or that inspired thought. And the question for you is to determine, well, the times that you’ve followed those signals or those nudges or those gut feelings or those moments of intuition, those moments of inspired thought, the times when you followed it, what was the outcome?

I can pretty much guarantee that it was always for the positive, whereas the times that you went against your intuition, your gut feeling, had typically and I would estimate, have also led to the negative part. In my experience, any single time that I’ve gone against my own intuition or my own gut feeling, it has literally come up and smacked me across the face by way of the impact it would actually have if I didn’t follow my gut feeling.

So what I’m encouraging you to do is to look at how can you become more sensitive to your unconscious part of you. The unconscious part that’s bringing in so much more information to yourself and processing so much more information and how it communicates its message to you, to your Executive Center part of your brain, in order to guide you in absolutely every single thing that you do.

So when we’re in this moment of trying to figure out the old world of working our life and controlling our life from our conscious thinking part of ourselves, versus moving into a much different way of doing things, which is being led by our unconscious side or our intuition side or gut feeling, whatever terminology that sits best for you or how you best understand it or can conceptualize how it works; the more you move into that and the more you move from your conscious thinking into your unconscious thinking, the easier your life is actually going to be.

So that moment of where you’re moving from the state of Belief into the state of Knowing is that unease in between … It’s like moving between two different stools. It’s so different. And what shows up in our lives is this inner sense of restlessness, because ultimately what’s happening is our unconscious mind is trying to guide us towards something greater, something much bigger than ourselves. It’s our purpose, is what I described in a previous blog. And this inner restlessness is an inner feeling that, “Do you know what, what I’m doing right now doesn’t feel right. Whatever I’m doing right now in my business or my career is not what I want to be doing … I should be doing something different. Or there’s just an unease in what it is that I’m doing.” And you’re being led to do something else. You’re being led to explore a new avenue, different opportunities.

Now, it may not be completely radical. It may just be a slight change in how you’re doing your business or how you’re developing your career. And ultimately, it’s trying to guide you in a different direction. In some people, that difference can be huge in the sense of where it’s trying to guide them to. That can be huge, but in the vast majority of the cases, it’s actually very, very slight. So this restlessness that we feel inside is actually trying to guide us. If you were to listen to that feeling, it’s a case of you’re doing something right now at the moment, it’s not comfortable, so therefore let’s do something else to be more comfortable. So that’s how that feeling of restlessness starts to come up.

What also happens is we get a lack of focus or a lack of direction that if we look at previously in your life, there may be cases whereby you knew what you were doing in your business, you knew what you were doing in your career, you knew where you were going, what position you were going to go for, how much turnover you’re going to bring, how much products or services you were going to sell, all these kinds of such things. That was very, very clear for you in relation to the vision that you would have had for your business or your career.

But then in this moment where you’re moving from a state of Belief into a state of Knowing, that lack of focus or that lack of direction starts to come up, because we start to question where we’re going or what direction we should be going in. And ultimately, what we’re looking for is that image or that picture of where we should be heading, the new course for our business or for our career.

So a lot of people spend a lot of time in actually searching out what does that end image look like, or what does that end vision look like? Here’s the hardest part for a lot of people to get their head around. You won’t get that image for yourself. You won’t get that end goal for yourself because ultimately, what your unconscious mind is trying to teach you is to trust your unconscious mind and to know what it is that it’s guiding you towards and to literally just have complete faith in your unconscious mind guiding you towards that. If it was to give you a vision or an image or a direction or an end goal, well then the fun is taken out of it, which again I spoke about the game of life and the snakes and ladders in a previous blog in talking from the perspective of life is a game. The more we are given that end goal or that end picture, well then the fun is gone out of our game of life.

So that’s the reason why it doesn’t give an end image. And the whole reason is to get you moving towards, and to just surrender and to trust that you’re being guided every single step of the way. But the more you flick back to working from your conscious mind, well then the more things are going to be distracting, more unnerving, more anxious. So all those negative emotions will start to appear. The more you trust and have faith of your unconscious mind to where you’re actually being guided to inwardly, the easier it is for things to happen.

Another sense of a feeling that comes up is the sense that I’m at the crossroads. Now, whether in your mind you can picture a crossroads or whether it’s a Y junction, whatever that image is for you, but it’s this sense of an inner feeling of, “I either go down one path or I go down the other path. And it’s trying to decide which path I go on.”

And I’m going to talk a little bit about this in a future blog, but it’s just this inner feeling of trying to make a choice. And some choices are a lot easier to make, whereas other choices become a lot more difficult to actually make because it’s perhaps maybe having that leap of faith of what it is that you’re being guided to move into or what you’re being drawn to move into. So it’s just that sense of trying to make a decision or trying to figure out, “Well, what path do I take?” Or, “What’s the route that I should take in my life or in my business or in my career?” Whatever it might be, it’s just that sense of being at the crossroads.

Now what this can lead to as well is just a sense of being depressed or being that there’s, “What is the point in my life, just this meaninglessness?” It’s a sense of trying to find meaning in our life, but not actually finding it. And it’s a case of, “I’m not being fulfilled. What is the point in life?” And these are the kind of questions that start to come up as you shift from a state of Belief to a state of Knowing.

And in the sense of what’s the purpose, or what’s my meaning, why am I here, what’s the point of it or a wanting perhaps in some respects, trying to “check out” and just feeling of lack of motivation in what it is that you’re doing. And you could be working a business or working in your career and over a period of time, you say, “Actually, do you know what? I don’t enjoy what I’m doing anymore. I don’t get the same buzz or the same fulfilment or that same sense of that I’m making a difference or I’m getting meaning from the business or the career that you’ve been creating for either a number of years or quite a long period of time.”

Really what’s happening is you’re being shifted over to actually a different track and being asked to pivot your business or to pivot your career, to go in a different direction. And in that moment, when we start to question, “Well, what is it that I’m doing and why do I not get any fulfilment or meaning from what it is that I’m doing?” If we didn’t have those feelings, it wouldn’t cause us to change to a new direction, hence the reason why that feeling is coming up.

All these feelings ultimately are a feedback mechanism to ourselves that we’re not living in equilibrium. We’re not living in our purpose. We’re not living in the way that we’re meant to be living.

So all these emotions are literally feedback mechanisms to ourselves, from our unconscious mind to guide us in a new direction. What also tends to come up is this fear and this anxiety of, “What does the future hold and where am I going?” And again, those feelings and emotions are there to guide us in a slightly different line or different track. Other emotions that also start to come up is just this feeling of, “Actually, do you know what, I’m doing this business, I’m doing this career, but I just feel like I’m on a treadmill that I’m just going from day to day, to day to day. And all I’m doing is either just paying the bills or just doing what my business or what my career is and this feeling of just being on the treadmill or on this being on a hamster wheel” are again, the kind of things that come up between these two states of Belief and Knowing.

And it’s also one of the things that leads into that feeling of imposter syndrome, whereby we’re presenting to the outside world that everything is fine, everything’s great and we’re on top of things and we’re able to control everything in our life and everything within our business and our career, and we’re performing at our best. But inwardly, we have all these questions coming up in our life and showing up and wanting us to go in a different direction and to search out what it is that we’re supposed to be doing and where we’re supposed to be going. So that feeling of feeling like an imposter starts to show more so in between these two particular states. But ultimately what’s happening is that there’s an inner desire of wanting to make an impact. And you’ll see this build up within an individual where they look at maybe volunteer work or look to try and make more of an impact in other people’s lives.

It’s this guidance towards, we want to make an impact, we want to leave a legacy, we want to develop something for ourselves in order to make a difference and to be remembered in other people’s lives. And there’s this question that “I’m just not living my full potential.” And that we’re here for a much bigger reason that you’re here to literally achieve much, much more. And believe me, every single person that I’ve come across, there is so much more that they’re absolutely here to achieve. It’s just phenomenal what the potential is for them when I see their purpose, when I see the image of where they’re supposed to be. The potential for them is absolutely phenomenal. So it’s no surprise to me when I hear somebody coming to me and say, “I just feel I’m not reaching my full potential,” because the gap that I can see between where they are, either in their business or career, even though they may be massively successful in their business or career, the gap between that and the potential that they’re absolutely to achieve is phenomenal.

It’s just amazing what they’re being guided towards and what that image looks like from my perspective. When a person is going through this period of time, it’s a case of, they just can’t put their finger on what they should be doing. And therefore, those searching questions start to show up by way of, “What does the image of what it is that I’m supposed to be doing look like?” I can’t put my finger on it, but they’re guided towards something, something greater, but they can’t put a finger on it. And hence the reason why they do a lot of different activities and they read a lot of different books and go on different courses and travel around the world, trying to “find themselves” or find it, what it is that they’re supposed to be doing and waiting for somebody to tell them what it is that they’re supposed to be doing in their life.

It’s easy for me because I get those images for people, but for other people where they can’t get the direction for themselves, then that can be extremely unnerving. So they can go through long periods of time of trying to search for themselves of what it is that you’re supposed to be doing. And they still can’t put their finger on it. But in the previous blog, I explained a little bit more about what you can actually do to try and find that for yourself. And what is it that your Genius Drivers are saying, what is it that your Telso is, what your purpose is and so on. So these are ways that you can actually find that out for yourself. That’s very quick and very, very easy in order to actually get you that sense of direction for yourself. But these are just some of the symptoms that show up in people’s lives.

Now, when I’m working with my clients, and I actually explained this in the first book that I wrote, and first book called EVOLVE. And I gave the analogy of the feather, the brick, and the truck. Now ultimately what’s happening, I use this analogy because it gets the message very quickly across for people. Now, if you can imagine you’ve got a feather, and you can also imagine a brick, and you can also imagine a truck. So let me describe each one of them and ultimately what’s happening. So if you can imagine the feather, the feather is so light. If you imagine the touch of a feather, it’s so, so light. Ultimately, what happens is the unconscious mind is trying to give us nudges. It’s trying to guide us in a particular way. It’s trying to direct us in a particular way. And it starts off like the feather, meaning just those light touches.

Now, how it comes about in our life is that we get that inspired thought or we get ideas into our mind of what it is that we should be doing. And it can be just an action or just something that we maybe should be sending an email over to somebody, or make a phone call or some thought that comes in our mind saying that, “Oh my God, wouldn’t it be great if I did X in my business?” And then we just forget about those thoughts. We just either don’t take note of them, we don’t write them down, or we just ignore them and we just move on to something else. We just forget about them. So those feathers, those nudges that come as feathers can come as ideas or inspiration, or we could be having a conversation with somebody and the person passes a comment and something within ourselves lights up from the comment that’s just been passed.

And we just get this surge of energy within ourselves saying, “Oh my God, maybe I should be doing something there.” There’s something that they said that makes a difference for ourselves inwardly or internally. We could be watching a movie or reading a book or just in this group and having a conversation and whatever the conversation is taking place, something can happen within that conversation that gets a surge within ourselves to say, “Actually, do you know what, maybe I should take note of what’s being said, write it down or take action or whatever it is.” But again, if we ignore it, we just forget about it and we just move on throughout our day. But they’re so light that it’s like the touch of a feather.

Now, if we don’t listen to the feathers, the brick comes along. Now you can imagine, the brick is a little bit more subtle than the feather. Now the brick shows up in the format of a sickness. Now it can be a temporary sickness, we can get over it, but it can hold us back or impact us for a short period of time. It can be in our business. It could be the loss of a big client that we need a long period of time to recover from. There are some clients that we could lose within a business whereby it could take months and months and months in order to actually recover from that loss of income. And because of that, it actually stops us in our track, in what we’re actually doing. It could be the accident that literally has us laying down in bed or in hospital, trying to figure out and trying to just stop us in what we’re doing, so therefore we can’t do our business, or we can’t do our career building.

It’s literally, we’re confined to our bed, whether it be at home or in the hospital. And it’s those weeks or months that we’re actually just given the space to start looking inwardly and thinking and contemplating of a better life and so on. And these are just things that they set us back, but we can overcome them relatively easily. But it does leave a mark.

Now, if we don’t listen to the brick and we don’t listen to the feathers, well, the truck comes along. And believe me, in my experience in working with so many different people over the years, you don’t want the truck to come along. Because the truck shows up in the form of a divorce, a separation, a redundancy in a career whereby it’s been thrown upon us and we have to make a change. It’s that serious illness, that unlike say the accident or the previous sickness that we may have had before by way of the brick, this serious illness literally does stop us in our tracks. And in some cases, we can overcome it.

Or other cases, literally we have to live with that illness for the rest of our days. It could be the business failure. It could be literally everything is being stripped away from us and that’s the truck. It literally just stops us completely and firmly in our tracks, and we have to do something completely, radically different at that stage.

Now these are the three types of unconscious signals or unconscious nudges that happen in people’s lives. And I’ve seen this so many times as I’ve observed, and as I’ve worked with different clients over the years. So again, just keep in mind by way of, the feathers or the bricks or the trucks.

Now, I’m sure there are moments in your life where you have encountered feathers, bricks, and trucks and it would be good to remember each one of those that showed up in your life, and for you to recall and find the evidence in your own life and recognize, “I did have those inspired thoughts, but I never did anything about them.”

Or maybe you did get inspired thoughts. You did do something about them. And they turned out to be extremely fruitful. Or the bricks have shown up in your life and try to identify them. And if trucks have come your way, well then identify what those trucks are, and what was it trying to guide you towards or what was the change that it was asking you to do in your life in order to bring your path in a new way?

Now, when you followed them, when you followed the bricks and the trucks and the feathers, and you did take action from the inspired thoughts, well then I can pretty much guarantee that it did work out.

But when you didn’t, well then what was the impact? What happened in your life or what was the difference in your life when you didn’t follow those nudges? It would be worth to start to think about. And if there are any feathers, bricks, or trucks showing up in your life right now at the moment, what is it trying to guide you towards? What direction is it trying to bring you to?

Now, we’re all going through this COVID-19 pandemic right now at the moment, and I can absolutely say that the sense that I got from the very start of when this happened, in the first couple of weeks of when the pandemic hit was this sense that this is actually calling people forward to step into their purpose, to step up into what it is they’re absolutely meant to be doing. When I ran a webinar series and I said this in the first webinar, I expressed the feeling that I got from the point of view of this pandemic, while it’s having a major impact on everybody right across the world, my sense of it all was that part of what was coming out of the pandemic was it was actually getting people to step up into their power, for them to reach their full potential and to step into their purpose.

And the weeks that followed, the conversations that started to unfold and the conversations that I started to have with new people that were coming my way and the feeling of, “Where am I going? What’s happening in my business or what’s happening in my career?”, it was this inner desire for them to actually do something slightly different or completely different within their business or within their career. So for me, I saw this actually play out and happen by way of, it is actually asking people to step up into their purpose.

So when you look at your space right now at the moment and where you are in your business or your life, what is it that you’re being called towards? What is it that it’s asking you to change? And what has been that inner desire for yourself to do differently, to move towards something different.

And while a lot of us are working remotely or working from home or the new working remotely, while we’re in this space … for some people, they do get time out to say, “Actually, what am I doing? Maybe I should change things of how I’m doing things in either in my business or in my life or in my career.” It’s giving people that space to ask those questions and to contemplate on what it is that they’re supposed to be doing.

And before we all get back to, for want of a better word, the new normal and as I said, there is no such thing as a normal. But as we move back and into our lives again and things start to open up again, how different do you want your life to be?

And if you’re to listen closely to what those nudges are saying to you, what your unconscious mind is actually trying to communicate with you, it’s actually asking you right now at the moment, “How do you want your life to be different? How do you want your business or your career to be different? What have you suppressed within yourself that you wanted to express over many, many years but just haven’t had that ability to actually achieve or find a way of actually going after what it is that you’re being drawn towards?”

Ask yourself those kinds of questions. But next, once you’ve got a sense of what that new direction is for you, well then what is it that you need to do to take action? What are the steps that you need to take right now? Just those first few steps, what’s the action that you need to take? In some cases, maybe just reaching out to somebody or in some cases maybe, “Actually, do you know what, I need to change my messaging about what it is that I do in my business.” Whatever it is for you, whatever comes up for you, and the more you surrender and allow to be guided by your unconscious, the more it’s going to give you those inspired thoughts to give you what the next actions that you’re to take. But for some people, it holds them back. So the question I have for you then is, well what is actually holding you back?

And if you’re able to pinpoint what’s actually holding you back, once you can identify it, then something can be done about it, meaning an action or something can be done in order to dissolve what it is that’s actually holding you back. Because there’s no doubt you’re to step into your purpose. There’s no doubt that if you’re reading this particular blog and you’ve read previous blogs of what I’ve been guiding you towards and moving towards you stepping into who you are, stepping into your purpose, stepping into you absolutely achieving your full potential. If you absolutely listen to this, it means that your inner questioning is literally getting you to try and move onto a track for you. Your purpose. For you to live your purpose. For you to reach your full potential. For you to literally make manifest your full potential, whether it be in your business or in your career.

That’s what you’re here for. So what is it that’s holding you back? And when you decide, and you can specify and identify what it is that is holding you back, well then you can go about and dissolve it. Then you can go about getting over that obstacle of what you perceive is actually holding you back. These are just some of the questions that you can ponder for yourself. They’re very specific questions, but it’s important that you ponder on them and look for the inward answer. The inward answer, what I mean by that is communicating with your unconscious. Don’t consciously think about the answers to these questions, unconsciously summon up the answers to the questions, and the more you ponder on them and seek the answers to the questions, well then the more you’re going to be guided. And it’s taking that leap and that move towards that state of Knowing that will move you up to much higher states.

How To Find Your Authentic Self

how to find your authentic self

How To Find Your Authentic Self

How do we become our authentic self, and what is it that gets us operating from the Executive Centre part of the brain more consistently and more sustainably?

And what is it that helps bring our life pendulum into equilibrium more easily?

Well, let’s go back to the Greek philosophers.

Aristotle referred to the fact that each individual has an inner desire to fill what is empty in their life. What is most void in our life.

We seek to fill what is empty. We seek to fill our voids.

The voids which are most empty in our life, we will want to fill the most. In other words, we prioritise the voids we want to fill the most.

And we unconsciously seek out ways to fill these voids. Ways to fill this inner emptiness in our life.

When we fill these voids, or this inner emptiness in our life, then we are filled. We are fulfilled. This is where personal fulfilment derivers from.

how to find your authentic self

So in order to obtain maximum personal fulfilment, we must fill our voids in accordance with the voids that are of most priority.

And because we are unconsciously seeking out ways to fill these voids in line with what is unconsciously of most priority, we therefore, have what I refer to as a set of unconscious Genius Drivers.

It is our highest unconscious Genius Drivers that we are seeking to full-fill the most. It is by filling these Genius Drivers the most, that we achieve the most personal fulfilment, and we become our authentic self.

It is these unconscious Genius Drivers that our unconscious is actively getting our Executive Centre of our brain to make manifest.

Our Genius Drivers are what activates most effectively the Executive Centre part of our brain.

And when it comes to the Executive Code, it is this channel between the unconscious and the Executive Centre in the brain that we want to maximise the most, as I referred to in earlier blogs.

Because each person’s life is unique to them, they have a unique set of Genius Drivers.

Even if you have twins growing up in the same home, experiencing the same life, they each will have a unique set of Genius Drivers. The reason being is that each sibling will have their own perceptions of different events and moments in their lives.

So while two people can observe and be part of the same moment or event, each of them will have a different perception of that same moment or event.

So a person’s Genius Drivers are unique to them. They are fingerprint specific. It is their authentic self.

And for many people that are unaware of what their personal Genius Drivers are, it can lead to them feeling a lack of fulfilment or meaning in their life. Or a sense that they’ve lost their mojo. That they can’t find their purpose or focus in life.

The reason being is that your unconscious is trying to fill these voids, and if the person is not working in line with their personal Genius Drivers, then these voids are not being filled. Therefore there is no fulfilment.

Your Genius Drivers are also your unconscious view of the world – they’re how you perceive and judge others, what you pursue in life, and how you make decisions.

They form your unconscious blueprint!

You authentic self blueprint.

Your unconscious patterns when it comes to your relationships, your finances, your business, your health – everything in your life.

So when we consciously know our Genius Drivers, and we mould our business or our career around our Genius Drivers two main things are happening.

We are filling our personal voids the most, and therefore we are achieving maximum person fulfilment.

And secondly, we are utilising our Executive Centre the most.

And remember what I said in earlier blogs, our Executive Centre is what gives us our results in a faster, easier and less costly way.

As a result of operating from our Executive Centre, we are more creative, more innovative and more objective.

So if we want to achieve anything in life, and we want to achieve it in the fastest, easiest and less costly way – then it needs to be in line with our personal Genius Drivers.

If we do this while keeping our life pendulum that I spoke about in the previous blog in equilibrium, we are then also in sync between our Executive Centre, our unconscious and the SuperConscious. This is where true alchemy lies. This is where true mastery lies.

Also when we are aligned with our Genius Drivers, we are aligned with our true selves. The true essence of who we are. Our authentic self.

This is one of the main reasons why so many people suffer from imposter syndrome. Because they are doing a business or a career that is not fully aligned to who they truly are. Their authentic self. Their inner voice, their gut feeling, their intuition, knows it to be false, to be out of alignment, and therefore they feel inwardly that they are a fraud. With that inner feeling of being a fraud, they will never achieve the levels of success that they desire, because they don’t want to be found out. And if they don’t want to be found out – then they’re not going to push themselves out there more into the world for fear that they will be caught and found out.

When our life pendulum is in equilibrium, this is when we are most integrated with our true selves, our true nature, our authentic self. It is when we are integrated with our true selves that we are operating with integrity. For me, integrity means when we are fully integrated.

We become our true authentic selves. Again for me, that is when we are operating authentically and where our true authentic leadership shines through. We’re no longer a facsimile, and expression of someone else, or a learnt expression, or a shadow of someone else – we are our true selves because we are in line and in equilibrium with our own unique self. That which is fingerprint specific to ourselves.

When I work with clients – the first thing I do is identify their personal Genius Drivers. Then we look at building their business or career around their Genius Drivers. Then we set about bringing them into equilibrium with their true selves.

When this is done, the results that they get are amazing. And apart from the personal fulfilment that they get, life becomes easier for them.

And a common question I get from clients is, well if everyone has a set of Genius Drivers that is unique to them, and therefore their staff have a different set of priorities, how do they get their staff to operate from their own Genius Drivers so that they too achieve greater results in the business?

And it’s easy!

What is the Meaning of Life and How To Find Your Passion & Purpose

This Free eBook will tell you the meaning of life, understanding your passion, and how to find your Life Purpose.

You Will Learn:

When we identify the Genius Drivers of each person in the business, and align how the purpose or mission of the business is serving each individual’s Genius Drivers, then that’s when you have full staff alignment and engagement with the mission and purpose of the business.

When we align each individual in the business, to how the Genius Drivers of their colleagues are serving them and each other, then you have maximum staff cohesion and engagement.

So if our personal Genius Drivers are operating from an unconscious level, how do we become aware of them and bring them into our conscious mind to that we can build our business or career around them?

Well, we look for the evidence in our lives.

Through a whole series of questions and by drilling down on the answers, we’re able to find the evidence that is in our life of what our unconscious is trying to fill the most.

By using a specific set of questions we’re able to find the evidence that is in our lives both externally and internally.

Externally in terms of our environment, how we spend our time, how we spend our money, how we spend our energy, and how we communicate with others.

And also internally. Our thoughts, our dreams and aspirations, our internal energy and also our internal communication – that little voice inside our heads.

When we know our own unique set of unconscious Genius Drivers, and we build our business, our career, our life around them, then that’s when we are more motivated, more driven to achieve, more inspired to take action. That’s when we get maximum fulfilment in our life and we are expressing our true authentic selves. We are bringing ourselves, our Executive Centre, our unconscious and the SuperConscious more into alignment. We’re more creative, more innovative, and more objective. It’s our true inner leader. It’s when we become our own unique pioneer.

When it comes to challenges that show up in peoples lives like recessions, pandemics, redundancies, health issues, financial loss – whatever it is, when you’re operating in line with the Executive Code, having your Executive Centre in line with your unconscious, and inline the SuperConscious, then what you see are opportunities while others see failures. And while others see challenges, you see springboards to higher levels.

It’s what makes the difference between the person that struggles, or is doing good enough, versus the person that is doing great or is thriving.

Without doubt, finding out what your own unique set of personal Genius Drivers is, is one of the most important exercises that anyone can do in their life.

There is more about this on my website which you’ll find in the details of this blog description.

And on the next blog, I’ll talk about finding your own unique purpose.

Until then, I wish you every success.

The Critical Line In Life

the critical line in life

The Critical Line In Life

In my last blog, I mentioned that there is a critical line that shows up in our life between the states of Belief and Knowing.

It’s in the state of knowing that we need to learn how to straddle the old world and the new world. The old world of our state of belief. And the new world of our state of knowing.

The world that fed our ego.

Versus the inner calling to serve others and make a difference.

It can be a very unsettling time for many people, dealing with this critical line.

the critical line in life

And as I mentioned in the previous blog, when we are in a state of knowing, we go on a quest for knowledge and wisdom. New deeper interests start to show up in the forms of spirituality, meditation, volunteering, intuition, social impact and the likes.

And many people seek out books, courses and activities that feed these interests. They even travel to different countries to hear from different gurus. Some spend months on mountains in deep inner reflection seeking answers.

But the difficulty is that many of these courses and activities are diverse. What I mean by that is that they’re not integrated. They cover one particular aspect of life or business, and they’re not joined up. They don’t get you past the critical line.

How do I know this…because I’ve done these same activities years ago.

And what I found is that they didn’t give me the answers I was seeking.

And what I found was that many of the gurus were living by themselves. They didn’t have spouses or partners. They didn’t have businesses to run or customers or clients to help and manage. Most of them spent a lot of their time in deep reflection and meditation. Others would refer to the fact that they spent their time on their own fluffy could.

It was like they didn’t have to deal with the day-to-day realities of life!

In fact, they purposely blocked out anything and anyone that knocked them off their Zen state.

So while they were exceptional in one aspect of their life. There were other areas of their life that were suffering, or what others might see as being imbalanced. While they might be high on the scale of say spirituality or finances, they were low on the scale when it came to say relationships.

Also, it appeared that there were elements of themselves that were being repressed in order for them to maintain in their Zen state.

And what you’ll find is that if an area of your life is repressed, it will be expressed in other ways – in order to bring you back into equilibrium.

Also if there is an area of your life that you are not empowered in, someone or something else with overpower you in that area.

So part of my research that I referred to in the earlier blogs was to find the way to get past the critical line and to thrive – to become that master – while also living in the real world!

And all of that research and methodologies, I’ve put into what I call the Executive Code.

As I said earlier, by doing a multitude of different courses or activities to find the answers – none of them are joined up.

And while you focus on fixing one part of your life, another part of your life ends up falling apart.

And while you’re repressing one aspect of your life, it is being expressed in another way that is being kept concealed.

So you continue in a vicious cycle of wavering between the state of belief and the state of knowing, and therefore not fully getting past the state of knowing to the state of mastery.

The cost is huge. Not just in terms of money and time. But also in terms of emotions, relationships and lost opportunities.

There remains this constant quest to find the answers. To find purpose. To find meaning and fulfilment.

Believe me, I’ve been there. So I know the full extent of how difficult it is to get past the critical line.

So while many people spend time in meditationmindfulnessyoga or activities like these – it’s not getting them to the next level.

Don’t get me wrong – there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of these activities. In fact, the benefits of each of them are amazing.

The only thing is that everyone can’t be in a state of mindfulness or meditation, while also managing what can be a very stressful and busy business or career.

Do they help – absolutely.

Do they play a role in the Executive Code – yes.

What they help with is to quieten the mind in order to allow the inspired thoughts come up from the Unconscious.

What they help with is to bring the mind into equilibrium – to balance. I’ll talk more about this on a later blog.

Are there other benefits – yes – they help to calm you down and lower your stress levels.

But for many people their conscious mind and thoughts are very strong and therefore shortly after a person isn’t meditating, their conscious thoughts come back into play and bring up stress, fears, worry, anxiety, resentment, anger, hurt etc.

So the key is not to block out those conscious thoughts by just ignoring them or pushing them out of our mind.

When we do that – we’re repressing those thoughts. And remember what I said earlier – what you repress, will be expressed in some other way.

Many of the thoughts and feelings are there for a reason. They’re there as feedback to yourself that you’re not in equilibrium.

For most people, these thoughts that they keep repressed show up in illness – and nobody wants that.

So instead of pushing them out, ignoring them, or blocking them – what we need to do is dissolve them – neutralise them – bring them into balance.

And we do this by working with how the conscious mind works. It’s part of the work I do with clients.

If you keep blocking these thoughts out, you’ll continue to straddle between the state of belief and the state of knowing. You won’t get past the critical line to reach the levels of freedom that I spoke about before.

You can only get to the state of mastery by being in equilibrium in all aspects. Being in a state of equilibrium is the equivalent of love – pure love.

Pure love is seeing both sides – positive and negative – in total equilibrium.

If you’re biased towards one side, say negative, then you’re not truly in love. And if you are biased towards the other side, the positive side, then you’re still out of balance.

It’s when you see the positives and the negatives in equal measure, and loving both sides, that you get to be in a state of equilibrium, and therefore open the direct channels between the Executive Centre, the Unconscious and the SuperConscious.

In an earlier blog, I outlined what the Executive Code is – it’s about operating from the Executive Centre of the brain – and all the things that are needed to do this – and then connecting with the Unconscious – and then connecting with the SuperConscious.

The reason we want to be operating from the Executive Centre in the brain is because it’s responsible for finding the easiest, fastest and less costly way of achieving what we want to achieve. When I say less costly – I’m speaking in terms of all your resources.

Now if you can imagine in your mind’s eye – three circles. One below each other. So you have one circle at the top, another circle below it, and another circle below that. And in between each circle is a tube that connects the first circle to the second circle. And a tube that connects the second circle to the third circle.

Now let’s name the first circle – your Executive Centre. And we’ll name the second circle your Unconscious, and the third circle the SuperConscious.

Your SuperConscious is what we call Universe, God, Source, Higher Power – or whatever name that you prefer to call the SuperConscious.

Now imagine there’s a vertical line going down through all the circles from the top circle through the tubes to the bottom circle. And at the end of this line is another smaller circle, so that it looks like a pendulum, – the kind you would see in a grandfather clock.

Now when that pendulum is vertical and straight – it is in equilibrium.

When it swings to either side – it’s not in equilibrium. And what you will notice is that if you swing the pendulum to one side, it is no longer going through the tubes between each circle, and it is no longer in the circle of the SuperConscious or perhaps even the unconscious, depending on how far the pendulum has swung. In other words, the connection between the Executive Centre, the Unconscious and the SuperConscious is lost.

That’s how it works in real life.

What the Executive Code is all about is to help you bring everything into equilibrium so that you have that connection between your Executive Centre, your Unconscious and the SuperConscious. In that way, you can bring about what it is you want to bring about in your life and live the highest truest expression of who you truly are. What you are meant to become.

That’s the amazing power of the Executive Code.

What is the Meaning of Life and How To Find Your Passion & Purpose

This Free eBook will tell you the meaning of life, understanding your passion, and how to find your Life Purpose.

You Will Learn:

The downside of not living this way is that everything becomes harder. You don’t get to achieve what it is you want to achieve. More and more challenges show up in your life – the reason being is because nature is trying the whole time to bring you back into equilibrium. When you know how to do this, then you’re working with nature and not against it. You’re working in flow, not against flow.

The challenges that many people perceive in their lives – whether it be in their business, their career, their relationships, their health, their finances – no matter what aspect of their life that they look at – they then understand how to work with it. They no longer become challenges.

If you’re not working in line with the Executive Code, then you’ll constantly find yourself swinging between all the different states of being – from knowing, to belief, to hope, to despair, and perhaps back through to knowing again, and again, and again – constantly this up and down through the different states – like the signal on the heart rate monitor.

And more importantly, when you’re in a state of knowing, and you have that inner sense of being called towards something greater – in order to get there, and to bring that about – what you are meant to become – what you are meant to make manifest – your purpose – you have to move to the higher state.

And when it comes to your business, your relationships, your finances or your life – you want to be able to thrive. To have total freedom – in every aspect – to have real freedom.

That’s what you want to have. That’s what you want to achieve.

How do we get there?

Well, we need to start with our Executive Centre as I explained all along.

And while there are many things that you can do to assist with working from your Executive Centre – there is one that makes it more consistent, more sustainable and will bring that pendulum into equilibrium more easily.

What is it?

Well, that’s what I’ll cover on the next blog.

Until then, I wish you every success.

Take care and we’ll connect on the next blog.

How To Build Your Self Confidence

How To Build Your Self Confidence

If there’s one thing that I find, and that’s confidence is one of the main elements that hold people back. And there’s a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding about confidence, yet it is such a key element. If I was to ask you how confident are you, most people answer, “Well, fairly confident.” But then when they’re faced with certain circumstances, such as having to give a speech, or a presentation, or attend a party, then for some, they’ll say they don’t feel confident. This is where people refer to confidence as being situational, i.e., depending on the situation the person’s faced with will determine how high or how low their confidence will be.
Now, different situations will be different for different people and their confidence levels. They just don’t feel as confident in some situations than others. Yet it’s impossible to thrive and reach our highest potential in our personal and our professional life if our confidence is low. It impacts how visible we are and how visible we make ourselves to be. It determines whether we control our own agenda and our own time. It determines our ability to say no when we need to say no. As a business, our earnings or the fees that we charge will be absolutely in direct proportion to how confident we are. We don’t drive ourselves forward as much as others that are more confident. It literally touches every single aspect of our life.

And most people say “fake it until you make it”. Well, when it comes to confidence, this can have actually the opposite effect as it can lead to imposter syndrome. If we’re telling the outside world one thing, but yet we feel completely different on the inside, then this will lead to imposter syndrome. Your internal integrity metre knows it to be false. So therefore you’re not being authentic. So if you continue long enough trying to fake it until you make it, then you’ll find yourself having to wear different masks all day and every day. That voice inside your head will continue to chatter away, highlighting the fact and highlighting the difference that you’re not being authentic, that you’re not living with integrity. And therefore, it will lead to you feeling a lower level of self-confidence. It’s much better to build your own confidence rather than faking it. In this way, you’re being more authentic. You’re working with your own integrity.

So how do we build our own self-confidence? Well, let’s correct a fundamental misunderstanding that people have. The majority of people interpret competence with confidence. Let me explain. Competence is our ability to do something successfully, whereas confidence is our feeling or our belief about ourselves. Now, I’m going to outline the three pillars that make up competence and also the three pillars that make up confidence. But for now, let’s understand the big difference between the two labels, and how we can significantly affect each one of those labels very, very quickly.

So let’s take the example of giving a speech, which is reported as being one of the highest fears for people. And many of the people that I work with as clients will refer to the fact that they wouldn’t feel confident in giving a speech. This, however, is not down to confidence. It’s not down to a lack of confidence. It’s down to a lack of competence. They all know how to talk. So they’re competent in being able to talk and have a conversation. They just aren’t competent in talking on stage or having a conversation on stage. And that’s what public speaking is all about. Public speaking is about having a conversation with your audience.

Therefore, if we’re dealing with becoming more competent with talking on stage, then this is a skill that can be learned, just as when each person learned the skill of walking, or cycling, or driving a car, playing a musical instrument. It’s a skill that can be learned. Yet people hold themselves back because they’ve labelled it, as so many other people labelled them, as being low in confidence, when in fact it’s actually competence. And because they label themselves as being low in confidence, it results in them avoiding situations, which limits them achieving their highest potential. It’s not confidence. It’s competence.

Secondly, we all have different roles in life, such as husband/wife, employee/employer, father/mother, and so on. And as a business owner or an employee, you too will have different responsibilities. For each of those roles and responsibilities that we fulfil, we need to become competent in the different areas. If you take the role as being a father or a mother, this role will demand us to be competent in a multitude of skills, from looking after a newborn, from feeding them, dressing them, comforting them, how to even handle a newborn baby, to washing them, through to being a teenager. And we’ve got to change then into how to guide them, how to mentor them, how to coach them, how to discipline them, and even how to chauffeur them all around the place.

So each stage of their life requires different skills. And each aspect of our children’s lives require different skills as well. As much as we would love it, we’re not given a handbook with each of our children as they come along. Yet, as the next child arrives, our skills have already been developed, i.e, to feed them, to dress them, to comfort them, to handle them, to washing them. We get better. We become more competent in what it is that we need to do in order to look after a child. And as we get more competent, our belief in ourselves increases, and therefore we become more confident. You see, confidence follows competence. So whatever role that you’re operating in, whether it be in your personal life or in your professional life, there will be a suite of skills that you will need to develop in order for you to be fully competent in fulfilling that role.

Now let’s look at the three pillars that make up competence. And the three pillars are skills, knowledge, and experience. Now, if we take our example from earlier of giving a speech, there are skills that we need to develop, there’s the knowledge that we need to gain. And then we need to put into practice those skills and that knowledge in order to gain the experience, and therefore give us feedback so as to improve our competence in a particular area. So when it comes to giving a speech, there’ll be the skills of stagecraft, controlling our body language, using the presentation software and our laptops, and managing the microphone. There’s the knowledge that we need to gain such as knowledge on our subject matter, how to structure the speech to maximize audience engagement, or even how to handle questions, or what happens when our mind goes blank, and how do we read the audience. So there’s a number of different aspects of what we need to develop our knowledge in.

But our competence in giving a speech will still be very low until such time as we practice and deliver a speech. And the more we give speeches, i.e., the more experiences we get at giving speeches, then the more competent we become. A brain surgeon, if you take it, no matter how much skill and knowledge he or she has developed in the classroom, will be little competent until he or she is standing at a table with a live person in front of them, and they have to do brain surgery on them. That’s where experience comes into play. So no matter how much confidence a person has, without being competent in doing what they’re about to do to, their confidence will have very little advantage.

What is the Meaning of Life and How To Find Your Passion & Purpose

This Free eBook will tell you the meaning of life, understanding your passion, and how to find your Life Purpose.

You Will Learn:

Also, when it comes to human behaviour, we tend to look up to people that are more confident, not necessarily in an admiration sense, but there will be something about that individual that will be appealing. We might even put it down to the person having charisma. On the other hand, some people will tend to look down on people that express a lower level of confidence, not necessarily in an arrogant way, but in a way that we won’t treat them as an equal, as they have a lower level of confidence than ourselves. You’ll see this play out in companies and with employees as ones that get promotion and others that don’t get promoted. So when it comes to competence, the three pillars are skills, knowledge, and experience.

Now, when it comes to confidence, there are also three pillars. And these are self-belief, self-love, and self-worth. Now, self-belief is that inner knowing that we can achieve whatever it is that we put our minds to. It’s not arrogance. It’s a deep inner knowing. We know that we can achieve the results that we want to achieve. We may not know how it’s going to get to be achieved, but we know we’re going to get there. No matter what, we’re going to get there, because we have that deep inner knowing, that deep inner belief about ourselves that whatever it is that we set our minds about, that we’re actually going to achieve it.

Now, self-love is how we look after ourselves. Now, when I’m working with male clients, I tend to have to change the word self-love to self-care. Taking care of ourselves covers three elements. It covers mind, body, and soul. It’s not just a case of looking after one of those elements. It’s looking after all of those elements. And another aspect of self-love is that if we don’t respect ourselves sufficiently, we will allow others to overpower us, either physically or emotionally, through their words or their actions and what that is that they do. Self-love is about looking after ourselves, both by ourselves, but also by what we allow others to do to ourselves. When you care for yourself, you look after yourself, you value yourself.

Self-worth, on the other hand, is how much we value ourselves, regardless of what other people think, or what other people do, or what other people say. If we don’t feel that we are of much value or benefit to other people, then we won’t put much value or worth on ourselves. Now, self-worth is an inner feeling. It’s not an outward feeling. It’s an inner feeling about ourselves. Now, in business or employment, this comes into play when you start to put a price tag on your service. If your self-worth is low, then you will price your services low, or you will price your salary low. On the other hand, if your self-worth is high, then you will price accordingly.

So when it comes to building self-confidence, it’s about understanding the difference between competence and confidence. And whatever role that you look at in life, whether it be a father, a mother, an employee, an employer, competence needs to be built in each of the relevant areas in order to fulfil that role. And the three pillars of competence are skills, knowledge, and experience, whereas for confidence, the three pillars are self-belief, self-love, and self-worth.

So it’s worth asking yourself what are the elements that you need to develop under each one of these pillars? So until the next blog, that’s something perhaps you could reflect on. What are each of the elements that you need to develop under each one of those pillars? Until the next blog, I wish you every success.
